Manufacturing Engineer

Our client specializes in high-speed milling to close tolerance. They offer major savings for their customers who may be buying costly investment castings, die cast items, or purchasing machined components from a typical machine shop. They machine all items from high quality bar or plate, and are able to hold down costs as no additional setup costs are required. In comparison to castings, they can incorporate engineering changes quickly at minimal costs, offer short start-up times without expensive die investments or die maintenance costs, and provide a consistent, high-quality product. One of their specialties is the elimination of expensive, long lead-time castings by machining the product from solid aluminum blocks.

THE ROLE YOU WILL PLAY:

• Owns the manufacturing process.
• Is the liaison between engineering, production, maintenance, quality and other technical personnel.
• Identifies areas in needs of improvement or correction, develops plan for corrective action/continuous improvement and implements the pan where needed.
• Provides process support and problem resolutions for the production equipment and production floor.
• Research and design new process technology, methods and machinery to improve output, eliminate down time, eliminate waste, improve quality and make positive contributions to an efficient and profitable operation.

BACKGROUND PROFILE:

• S. in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering with experience working with production in a manufacturing setting.
• Ability to work independently and with little supervision.
• Ability to develop designs, operating procedures, and processes accurately and efficiently.
• Strong technical capability with problem solving and analytical skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Office and a variety of engineering software.
