Our client is one of the larger commodity traders in Northeastern, SD. One of the more successful cooperatives in the Midwest they are really focused on ensuring their financial operation is sold and the patrons and shareholders investments are well protected and generating income. They seek a Controller with in-depth experience in the accounting practices and processes associated with commodities trading, grain buying and selling and the sale of feed stocks.

THE ROLE YOU WILL PLAY:

• Responsible for managing financial functions of the organization.
• Provide monthly financial reporting.
• Provide technical accounting analysis and ensuring strong internal controls.
• Lead accounting and financial team.
• Develop team, encourage personal growth and ensure a productive and inclusive work environment.
• Communicate complex and technical finance information to financial and non-financial team members.
• Assist with company’s forecasting and asset management processes.

BACKGROUND PROFILE:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting – Required.
• 5+ Years of Accounting Experience with Grain Accounting Operations.
• CPA or CMA – preferred.
• Experience in providing financial reporting and analysis to management, finance agencies, shareholders etc.
• Knowledge of Great Plains and Microsoft Office.
• Excellent leadership skills and ability to develop a team.
• Excellent communication skills.
